HEGS Observation 007 explaining why admission leads should be understood by intent and decision stage before follow-up.

HEGS Observation 007

Pichhli observation mein maine ek simple point raise kiya tha:

Form fill karna admission intent ka proof nahi hai.

Ek student sirf fees jaanne ke liye form fill kar sakta hai.

Koi comparison ke liye.

Koi counselling ke liye.

Aur koi genuinely admission consider kar raha ho sakta hai.

Lekin agar sabhi students ko system mein sirf:

New Lead

likh diya jaye…

toh ek important information kho jaati hai:

Student actually kis stage par hai?

Lead Aate Hi Sabse Pehla Question “Call Kab Karni Hai?” Nahi Hona Chahiye

Admissions mein ek common reaction ho sakta hai:

Lead aayi → counsellor ko assign karo → call karo.

Fast response important hai.

Lekin usse pehle ek aur question useful ho sakta hai:

“Is lead ke baare mein hum kya jaante hain?”

Student ne kaunsa course dekha?

Kis source se aaya?

Kis information ke baad form fill kiya?

Kya usne fees dekhi?

Kya placement information dekhi?

Kya counselling request ki?

Kya wo pehli baar aaya hai?

Ya repeatedly institute ko explore kar raha hai?

Agar ye context available ho, toh counsellor ki first conversation bhi different ho sakti hai.

Same Lead, Different Context

Imagine karo do students ne same B.Tech form fill kiya.

Student A

Usne:

Ad dekha → Course page → Form

Aur bas.

Ho sakta hai wo abhi early research stage mein ho.

Student B

Usne:

Ad → Course page → Fees → Placement → Campus → Form

Aur phir counselling request ki.

Dono database mein:

B.Tech Lead

Lekin kya dono ko same follow-up milna chahiye?

Shayad nahi.

Kyunki action same hai.

Context different hai.

Intent Ek Single Question Se Nahi Samjha Jaata

Kabhi-kabhi lead qualification ka matlab sirf ye poochhna hota hai:

“Admission lena hai?”

Student:

“Haan.”

Lead hot.

“Abhi decide nahi kiya.”

Lead warm.

“Bas information chahiye.”

Lead cold.

Problem ye hai ki student ka answer uski complete decision state explain nahi karta.

Ek student “haan” bolkar bhi parents ke decision ka wait kar raha ho sakta hai.

Dusra “abhi decide nahi kiya” bolkar actively teen colleges compare kar raha ho sakta hai.

Isliye intent ko sirf ek label mein fit karna difficult ho sakta hai.

Student Ke Questions Bhi Intent Signals Ho Sakte Hain

Counsellor conversation mein student kya pooch raha hai, wo bhi useful signal ho sakta hai.

Agar student poochta hai:

“Fees kitni hai?”

toh uska current concern cost ho sakta hai.

Agar poochta hai:

“Placement ka kya scene hai?”

toh outcome concern ho sakta hai.

“Hostel available hai?”

toh practical evaluation chal raha ho sakta hai.

“Admission last date kya hai?”

toh urgency ka signal ho sakta hai.

“Documents kaunse lagenge?”

toh decision comparatively advanced stage par ho sakta hai.

Ye exact rules nahi hain.

Har student different hai.

Lekin conversation ko sirf call connected / call not connected ke level par dekhna bhi incomplete picture de sakta hai.

Behaviour Ko Score Karna Aur Intent Ko Understand Karna Alag Hai

Digital marketing mein hum often scores banana pasand karte hain.

Page visit = points.

Form fill = points.

Multiple visits = points.

Counselling request = points.

Ye useful ho sakta hai.

Lekin score khud decision nahi hai.

Agar kisi student ko 80 points mil gaye, iska matlab automatically ye nahi ki:

“Admission ready.”

Score ka purpose shayad ye hona chahiye:

Counsellor ko better context dena.

Not:

Student ke behalf par decision kar dena.

Marketing Aur Counselling Ko Ek Hi Student Story Dekhni Chahiye

Ek interesting problem yahan create ho sakti hai.

Marketing team ke paas data hai:

Campaign → Click → Lead

Counselling team ke paas:

Call → Conversation → Follow-up → Admission

Agar dono systems connected nahi hain, toh marketing ko ye nahi pata chalega ki kis type ke leads actually आगे बढ़े.

Aur counselling ko ye context nahi milega ki student institute tak kaise aaya.

Phir marketing optimise karegi:

More leads.

Counselling kahegi:

Lead quality poor hai.

Management kahega:

Admissions kyun nahi badh rahe?

Aur teenon apni jagah correct feel kar sakte hain.

Problem shayad kisi ek team mein nahi, system ke beech mein ho.

Real Question “Lead Quality Kaisi Hai?” Se Aage Jaata Hai

Lead quality ek useful phrase hai.

Lekin mujhe lagta hai institute ko isse aur specific banana chahiye.

Instead of:

“Leads achhi nahi hain.”

Ask:

“Students kis decision stage par aa rahe hain?”

“Kaunse concerns repeatedly aa rahe hain?”

“Kaunse sources se high-intent conversations aa rahi hain?”

“Kaunse campaigns sirf enquiries generate kar rahe hain?”

“Kaunse campaigns students ko actual decision ke closer la rahe hain?”

Ye questions marketing ko lead counting se decision analysis ki taraf le ja sakte hain.

Intent Ko Samajhne Ke Liye Perfect System Ki Zarurat Nahi

Yahan ek important practical point hai.

Institute ko day one par koi complicated AI scoring engine banane ki zarurat nahi.

Basic level par bhi kuch information capture ki ja sakti hai:

Course

Source

Student ka primary question

Current concern

Decision stage

Next action

Counsellor observation

Phir gradually patterns identify kiye ja sakte hain.

Kaunse concerns repeat ho rahe hain?

Kaunse sources better conversations la rahe hain?

Kaunse stages par students drop kar rahe hain?

Aur kaunse signals admission ke closer movement ke saath frequently appear karte hain?

System pehle observe kare.

Phir score kare.

HEGS Growth Insight

Mujhe lagta hai higher education admissions mein lead qualification ka ultimate objective lead ko label karna nahi hona chahiye.

Objective hona chahiye:

Student ko better understand karna.

Agar student ka context samajh aata hai, toh:

Marketing better questions pooch sakti hai.

Counselling better conversation kar sakti hai.

Content better objections address kar sakta hai.

Aur management better decisions le sakta hai.

Yaani intent data sirf CRM ka field nahi rehna chahiye.

It can become a feedback loop for the entire admission system.

My Observation

Mujhe lagta hai institute ko har new lead ke saamne sirf ye nahi poochna chahiye:

“Is lead ko call kiya?”

Ek aur question hona chahiye:

“Is student ke decision ke baare mein hum ab kya jaante hain jo kal nahi jaante the?”

Agar answer kuch nahi hai…

toh lead database grow ho raha hai.

Lekin admission intelligence shayad grow nahi ho rahi.

Because:

A lead tells you someone raised their hand.

Intent helps you understand why.

Aur shayad wahi difference lead generation system aur admission growth system ke beech hai.
