HEGS Observation 006 explaining why an admission form submission does not always indicate strong student admission intent.

Pichhli observations mein humne student ke college decision ko alag-alag stages se dekhne ki koshish ki.

Student college choose karne se pehle colleges eliminate kar sakta hai.

Elimination kisi ek reason se nahi, multiple doubts se ho sakta hai.

Claims trust tab build karte hain jab unke peeche believable proof ho.

Student colleges compare karte waqt sirf features nahi, apne possible future ko bhi compare kar sakta hai.

Aur college ki website us decision journey ka ek important touchpoint ban sakti hai.

Ab admissions marketing ka ek bahut common point:

Student ne form fill kar diya.

Marketing dashboard mein:

Lead Generated.

Counselling team ke paas:

New Lead.

Lekin kya iska matlab ye hai ki student admission lene ke liye ready hai?

Zaroori nahi.

Lead Aur Intent Ek Hi Cheez Nahi Hain

Ek student website par aaya.

Usne course dekha.

Thoda content padha.

Fees jaanne ke liye form fill kar diya.

Form submit ho gaya.

System mein lead aa gayi.

Technically everything worked.

Lekin student ke mind mein shayad sirf ek simple question tha:

“Fees kitni hai?”

Ho sakta hai wo abhi college shortlist bhi na kar raha ho.

Dusra student same form fill karta hai.

Lekin usne:

  • course details dekhi,
  • placement information dekhi,
  • campus dekha,
  • fees compare ki,
  • parents se discuss kiya,
  • aur counselling ke liye contact kiya.

Dono ne form fill kiya.

Lekin dono ka intent same hona zaroori nahi hai.

Form Ek Action Hai. Intent Ek State Hai.

Ye difference simple lagta hai, lekin admissions marketing mein important ho sakta hai.

Form fill karna = action

Admission consider karna = intent

Aur dono ke beech ka gap samajhna zaroori hai.

Ek student sirf information collect kar raha ho sakta hai.

Ek student comparison stage mein ho sakta hai.

Ek student parents se approval ka wait kar raha ho sakta hai.

Ek student fees confirm karna chahta ho sakta hai.

Ek student genuinely admission ke close ho sakta hai.

Same form.

Different situations.

Isliye Har Lead Ko “Hot” Ya “Cold” Kehna Enough Nahi Ho Sakta

Traditional lead classification kabhi-kabhi simple hoti hai:

Hot Lead

Warm Lead

Cold Lead

Lekin higher education decision journey thodi more complicated ho sakti hai.

Ek student:

Highly interested ho sakta hai,

lekin abhi financially ready nahi.

Dusra:

Very responsive ho sakta hai,

lekin sirf comparison kar raha ho.

Teesra:

Call receive nahi kar raha,

lekin parents decision ke liye website aur reviews research kar rahe hon.

Isliye sirf lead status se student ki actual position samajhna difficult ho sakta hai.

Humein lead nahi, decision stage samajhna chahiye.

Student Form Kyun Fill Karta Hai?

Ek simple exercise hai.

Institute ko apne admission form ke saamne ye question rakhna chahiye:

“Student ye form kis reason se fill kar sakta hai?”

Possible reasons bahut different ho sakte hain:

Information

“Fees bata do.”

Eligibility

“Main eligible hoon ya nahi?”

Comparison

“Doosre colleges se compare kar raha hoon.”

Counselling

“Mujhe kisi se baat karni hai.”

Parent discussion

“Information ghar par share karni hai.”

Serious consideration

“Main actually admission consider kar raha hoon.”

Immediate intent

“Process start karna hai.”

Agar ye sab reasons ek hi form mein aa rahe hain, to sirf lead count se journey samajhna difficult hoga.

Lead Generation Aur Admission Intelligence Alag Problems Hain

Marketing team ka objective ho sakta hai:

More Leads.

Admissions team ka objective:

More Admissions.

Management ka objective:

Better Enrollment.

Ye teen numbers related hain.

Lekin identical nahi.

Agar campaign 500 leads generate karta hai, to obvious question hona chahiye:

“In 500 leads mein actual admission intent kitna tha?”

Aur uske baad:

“Kis stage par students drop hue?”

Yahin se lead generation se admission intelligence ki taraf shift shuru ho sakta hai.

Lead Quality Ko Sirf CPL Se Judge Karna Dangerous Ho Sakta Hai

Suppose Campaign A:

₹100 CPL

Campaign B:

₹180 CPL

First look mein Campaign A winner lag sakta hai.

Lekin agar:

Campaign A → 100 leads → 2 admissions

Campaign B → 60 leads → 8 admissions

to cheaper lead necessarily better outcome nahi de rahi.

Yaani:

Cost per Lead

important metric hai.

Lekin final business question ho sakta hai:

Cost per Meaningful Admission Opportunity kya hai?

Aur usse bhi aage:

Cost per Admission

Enrollment Rate

Revenue per Campaign

Ye metrics eventually marketing ko admission outcome se connect karte hain.

Counsellor Ke Liye Bhi Context Important Hai

Imagine karo counsellor ko ek lead mili.

Uske paas sirf:

Name + Phone Number + Course

hai.

Ab conversation:

“Hello sir, admission lena hai?”

se start hoti hai.

Lekin agar system ye indicate kare ki student:

B.Tech CSE

ke liye interested hai,

placement page visit kar chuka hai,

fees page dekha hai,

aur counselling request specifically submit ki hai,

to conversation ka context completely different ho sakta hai.

Counsellor ko student ko zero se start karne ki zarurat nahi padegi.

Better context → Better conversation.

Aur better conversation ka matlab automatically admission nahi hai.

Lekin student ki actual requirement samajhne ka chance improve ho sakta hai.

Student Ki Digital Journey Ek Signal System Ho Sakti Hai

Student ka har digital action decision ka final proof nahi hai.

Lekin actions signals de sakte hain.

For example:

Ad Click

→ curiosity

Course Page Visit

→ relevance

Fees Page Visit

→ evaluation

Placement Page Visit

→ outcome concern

Campus Page Visit

→ experience evaluation

Form Submission

→ information/counselling request

Repeated Visits

→ continued consideration

Counselling Interaction

→ active decision process

Ye exact formula nahi hai.

Har student different hota hai.

Lekin institute ke liye important thought ye hai:

“Hum sirf lead capture kar rahe hain ya student journey bhi samajh rahe hain?”

HEGS Growth Insight

Mujhe lagta hai admissions marketing mein ek major shift ye ho sakta hai:

Lead Generation → Intent Understanding

Sirf ye jaana:

“Kitne forms aaye?”

se aage badhkar:

“Student kis reason se form tak aaya?”

Aur phir:

“Student abhi decision ke kis stage par hai?”

Agar ye information systematically capture ho, to marketing aur counselling ke beech ka gap reduce kiya ja sakta hai.

Marketing ko better feedback milega.

Counselling ko better context milega.

Management ko better quality picture milegi.

Aur institute ko sirf lead volume nahi, decision movement samajhne ka chance milega.

My Observation

Mujhe lagta hai har institute ko apne admission dashboard mein ek number ke saath ek aur question zaroor rakhna chahiye:

“Kitne leads aaye?”

ke saath:

“Kitne students actually decision ke next stage par move hue?”

Because:

A form submission tells you that someone took an action.

It doesn't necessarily tell you what decision they are ready to make.

Aur shayad admissions marketing ki next maturity yahi hai:

Lead ko count karna nahi.

Lead ke decision ko understand karna.

Observe. Test. Analyse. Build.
